The milky saga

Everyday my long suffering daughter in law struggles to feed milk to my grandson. Normally cheerful and full of smiles, the thought of drinking milk curdles his peaceful disposition.

At first, mama tries to sweet talk him into drinking milk even pretending that it is water

Then she mobilizes his grandmother

Even the second grandmother is put into play
Yet Nikhil says no! And

No means No !He closes his eyes hoping the milk and the milk bearer would just dissappear. When that does not happen, he covers his ears ( I dont know why the ears, he does not drink from them. Perhpas it is not hear the siren calls of his mother?) but anyway he covers them. Then when that fails, he purses his lips and moves his head from side to side so as to not present an easy target for the spoon filled with milk. When even that fails, he refuses to look up figuring out correctly that if his mouth is facing downwards, the milk cannot travel down his throat!

OK OK I will drink it but let me go after that will you?

Alas, all these struggles and strategies are normally to no avail. And his mother aided by his father and the two grandmothers generally prevail. As he will tell you that is not fair - two and three big galoots against one tiny baby!

This reminds me of an old ditty

"I do not love thee, Dr Fell,

The reason why I cannot tell;
But this I know, and know full well,
I do not love thee, Dr Fell."

Substitute milk for Dr Fell and you get the picture.
